ICF Monobì panels

ICF MONOBÌ floor system consists of modular EPS panels (bottom and hollowcore slab) with external interlocking surfaces, suitable for making reinforced concrete floors lightened with one-way or two-way joists.

The panels are made up of molded sheets with variable thickness according to structural calculation and transmittance needs. They consist of a lower part (EPS bottom) which is placed on the support formwork and an upper part (EPS hollowcore slab) which is solidly fixed to the first to conform the joists to be cast on site.

The overall dimensions of the sheets are 63 * 63cm. The assembly of the “bottom” and the “hollowcore slab” offers the possibility to create one-way floors or, where necessary for static requirements, two-way sheet floors, which allow to reduce about 40% of the structural thicknesses compared to a traditional floor, and also to increase free lights. Insulation is continuous and uniform, thanks to the presence of the appropriate “sub-beam” sheets, which can also be used for the construction of full slabs or protruding parts (balconies) made of reinforced concrete.

The convenience of ICF MONOBI floors is also expressed by the presence, on the intrados, of suitable blades embedded in polystyrene, which can be used to fix the plasterboard sheets or to apply suspended loads. The particular shape of these blades, subject of a patent, guarantees the anchoring of the finishing sheets to the reinforced concrete part, even in the event of fire.

ICF MONOBI floor is particularly advantageous also in economic terms, since the simplicity that characterizes it turns into a very low cost of execution, compared to the other EPS systems on the market.

In addition, the installation, which involves the construction of a “continuous” support deck, is safer for operators against the risk of falling down, in compliance with the requirements introduced by current safety standards on construction sites. Transport is also favored, as the panels can be easily stacked and occupy a very small volume.

Technical features of ICF MONOBI floor

  • Pitch of the joists, 60cm
  • Width of the joists, 10cm or 12cm
  • Own weight, about 10kg / m2
  • Bottom thickness, variable from a minimum of 3.5cm to a maximum of 6cm
  • Hollowcore slab thickness, variable according to calculation needs
  • Fire resistance (*), 120min
  • Thermal transmittance, variable from a minimum of 0.32 to a maximum of 0.28W / m2 * K
  • Soundproofing power (*), 60dB
  • Normalized walking level (*), 49dB

(*) forecast values obtained theoretically, referring to floors 3.5 / 16 + 20cm thick with an intrados finish consisting of plasterboard sheets and an extrados consisting of a special layer of sand-cement screed.

It should be noted that the use of a “sheet” or “two-way” floor allows to optimize the structural performance of buildings with load-bearing walls, not only because it allows to reduce the thickness of the deck, but also because it distributes in the best way the horizontal and vertical actions on the walls that support it, with obvious advantages in terms of overall reinforcement and sizing of foundations.
